Privacy what stays on the shelf

Last updated 15 October 2026

The short version: Lofi Shelf doesn't collect your personal data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no tracking and no ads of our own. The music plays through YouTube's own player, and YouTube's privacy policy covers what it sees.

What stays on your device

Your tapes, mixtapes, saved stations, chosen device, settings and the secrets you've found are kept on your device, shared only between the app and its share extension. We never receive them. Deleting the app deletes them.

YouTube

Lofi Shelf uses YouTube API Services. Every station and tape plays through YouTube's embedded player, which YouTube runs. When the player loads and plays, YouTube receives information such as your IP address, details about your device and what you play, and may use cookies or similar technology, as described in the Google Privacy Policy. By using Lofi Shelf you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service.

When you add a link as a tape, the app asks YouTube's public oEmbed service for its title, and thumbnails load from YouTube's image servers. Titles are kept on your device for at most 30 days, then refreshed or deleted.

Lofi Shelf never signs in to YouTube or asks for your Google account.

The station list

The app downloads its list of stations and Discover issues from our own server, hosted by Cloudflare. That request carries no account or device identifier. Like any web server, Cloudflare processes your IP address to deliver it and may keep it briefly in security logs, under the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.

Purchases

Lofi Shelf is free to download, and listening is always free. If you join Shelf Club, Apple handles the payment, and we never see your name, email address or payment details. To check which devices you've unlocked, the app uses RevenueCat, which receives a random ID the app creates and your App Store purchase records, nothing else. See the RevenueCat Privacy Policy and Apple's Privacy Policy.

This website

lofishelf.app sets no cookies and runs no analytics. It's hosted on Vercel, which processes your IP address to serve it, under the Vercel Privacy Policy, and the Download on the App Store badge loads from Apple's servers.

Children

Lofi Shelf is made for all ages and doesn't knowingly collect personal information from anyone, children included.

Your choices

Since we don't hold personal data about you, there's nothing for us to export or delete. For anything YouTube, Google, Apple or RevenueCat holds, use their privacy settings. Questions about privacy are always welcome at privacy@winna.app.
